If you are designing a study and interested in collecting patient reported outcomes, PROMIS, or the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System, is an NIH-funded initiative designed to develop and validate patient-reported outcomes for use in clinical research and practice. PROMIS has been vital in advancing the field of patient-reported outcomes by offering a systematic measurement system that is applicable across various health conditions. Its tools are designed to offer precise and accurate assessments with fewer items than many other conventional measures. PROMIS has measures that can be used in healthy populations and chronically ill populations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As osteopathic medical students, there are many measures PROMIS offers that assess constructs related to the tenets of osteopathy, such as physical functioning, psychological distress and wellbeing.
